Green Lane
“A Bramble and Byrnes Project”

Established in 1987 by
Dr. William C. Bramble and Dr. William R. Byrnes

In summer, wildflowers, such as purple sunflower, can be observed on the Area (photo by R. H. Yahner, July 2006, in wire zone of a stem-foliage unit [SF-2]).

The Green Lane Research and Demonstration Area has been studied for 22 continuous years (1987-2008). It is modeled after the State Game Lands 33 Research and Demonstration Area in Centre County, PA. Both projects are invaluable sources of information for an understanding of the response of plants and animals to ROW management using the wire-border zone method.
